Hailed as a rising star by International Piano Magazine, Scottish pianist Christina Lawrie made her debut with the RSNO in 2009, playing the Grieg Piano Concerto. As a Park Lane Group Young Artist Christina has given solo recitals at Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and on BBC Radio 3. She also loves touring Scotland, and had the honour of giving the inaugural recital on Music Nairn's new Steinway.

Christina’s debut solo CD will be released at her PHAS recital (23rd March 2011) on the new PHAS label. with the support of a Dundee Musicians’ Award, the Larg Trust and the Scottish Arts Council. For this CD she collaborated with the award-winning team of John Fraser (ex-EMI producer) and Philip Hobbs (chief sound engineer, Linn Records).

Christina was a finalist at Marsala International Piano Competition, the National Mozart Competition, Madrid International Piano Competition “Compositores de España”, and the Royal Overseas League Piano Competition. She has also held several Scottish Arts Councils awards as well as a Dewar Award.

After reading Music at Trinity College, Cambridge, Christina was awarded a Leverhulme Postgraduate Scholarship by the Royal College of Music, enabling her to study with Yonty Solomon. She has also studied with Sergei Babayan, Joan Havill, Jean Hutchison and Vanessa Latarche.
